Looking for an English speaking bar in Osaka? NIHON GO! is a neon-lit bar in Soemoncho, right next to Dotonbori. The owner spent 8 years growing up in New Jersey, USA, and has lived in Osaka for about 30 years.
No language barrier, no surprise charges
Many bars in Japan add a cover charge (a seat fee) to your bill — and it is often only written in Japanese. At NIHON GO!, there is no cover charge and no service fee. Highballs, shochu, 17 cocktails and 11 soft drinks are all ¥1,100, tax included. What you see on the menu is what you pay.
Our full menu is in English on our English page, so you can check prices before you come. When the owner is in, you can get help in English right at the bar.
Try Japanese whisky and shochu
Hakushu, Yamazaki and Hibiki are ¥3,000 a glass, and premium shochu starts from ¥1,500. Not sure what to pick? Just ask.
